Disappointed with the product September 5, 2010 Janet Chou (California, USA) I bought the netbook 2 months ago. It crashed twice already. It says it's 8 hour battery but when I turn on the computer immediately after charging overnight it says 5.5 hour remaining. On top of that it is slow in turns of uploading pages, dragging page bars, pointers, etc. I heard the same comments from a friend who got an acer netbook also. I think I am going to return this unit back to the store.
Actually a review of Amazon, the netbook will arrive in a couple of days September 3, 2010 Pamela Friend, Artist, Teacher, Lecturer (Ret.) (Massachusetts) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The order for this item was accidentally placed by my thumb resting on the touch pad while I was browsing netbooks.
Within five minutes, I received an email confirming the order. The "One Touch" ordering system is fine, and earlier I had wondered what I would do if something like this happened. In all my earlier orders from Amazon, I found that I had thirty minutes to correct an error like this one. In this case, for reasons which I do not yet understand, this option was not available; rather, I am instructed "This portion of your order is being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled or changed. Create a Review". So..., this is the review.
I had been led, based upon previous experience, to think that I had some time to correct such an error. But, in this case, there was ABSOLUTELY NO mechanism for me to say whoops, that's not what I meant to do. Amazon should, nay, MUST, provide some way for a customer to correct such an error. I fail to understand why they did not do so in this case.
Now, I must say that I would likely have deliberately ordered this netbook anyway (it was one of my two top choices). However, the fact that the site put me in this situation really p...es me off.
When I receive the netbook, and IF I decide not to return it unopened, I will write a review of the item itself.
Runs good with Ubuntu September 2, 2010 Karen S. Dugo (Crawfordville, FL United States) I bought this to run Ubuntu and it is compatible. The only negative is the cooling fan. It's loud and makes the internal microphone useless as it picks up the noise. The touch pad is overly sensitive, but that may be the Ubuntu conversion. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that is interested in an affordable, lightweight system with excellent battery life.

Received my Acer on 8/4. Charged it, used it for 4 weeks. Charged it twice during the past 4 weeks. Now the battery is dead and won't charge and it says I need to replace the battery. Not happy with this netbook!
Acer Netbook August 27, 2010 P. James (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second Acer netbook I've purchased. These little guys are perfect for taking just about anywhere outside your home or office. We travel and visit many places that wifi is available. When I turn my little computer on it hooks up very fast to the wifi. The other thing I love about it is the length of battery time. It's amazing! I found that I do much better with a wireless mouse, so I bought one to go along when we travel. The keyboard takes a little time to adjust to, but once you get your fingers working, it is a breeze.
